Astra Gift Maker is a program designed to transform your photos or any type of images into jigsaw puzzles that you can use for a variety of purposes, as a gift or even as a promotion tool. Using the program is pretty straightforward. Its interface consists of five tabs that make the puzzle creation process a breeze. All you need to do is import a photo (supported formats are BMP, JPG, GIF, and PNG), and start customizing your puzzle. One of the tabs comprises the playing options; there you can decide the number of pieces your puzzle will have, whether it should have a frame or not, the arrangement of pieces on the board, and the type of figure you will use for the pieces. There is a set of figure types to choose; apart from the typical puzzle figure you can pick the original 'figure shape' that uses silhouettes of animals, letters, numbers, and other objects. As for the number of pieces, your puzzle can be as small as a 15-piece jigsaw and as large as the picture resolution allows it. That is, the larger the picture the bigger the number of pieces it may have. In my case, I used a small 800x600 resolution photo, and the biggest number of pieces possible was 718.
To customize your puzzle even more, you can optionally add a few words describing the picture and even write your own congratulations message, which the user will see upon completing the puzzle.
The result will be a compact, stand-alone application with your picture. It is a really easy and quick way to get a customized jigsaw puzzle with your images.
